Clarity Aotearoa

About

A practice built for
the work that matters.

Clarity Aotearoa is a New Zealand data and analytics practice working alongside central government, Crown entities, and mission-led organisations.

Our position

Decision-grade. Not demo-grade.

We started Clarity because the New Zealand public sector deserved a data partner that took its constraints seriously — sovereignty, accessibility, OIA scrutiny, and the simple fact that what we build will outlast the original sponsor.

We’re deliberately small. We bring senior practitioners to the work, we don’t pyramid you, and we hand over what we build with the documentation your team actually needs.

Team

A small practice led by working principals.

Clarity is led by Wouter and Jarod de Vos. We keep the practice intentionally small so the people shaping the work are the same people doing it.

01

Wouter de Vos

Data Strategist, Cloud Data Architect, Analytics Leader

Wouter brings over two decades of leadership in data, analytics, and AI strategy. He specialises in data strategy, analytics leadership, and AI adoption, helping organisations modernise their data capabilities, improve decision-making, and unlock new opportunities through data and insight.

02

Jarod de Vos

Principal Data & Analytics Consultant

Jarod brings deep capability in applied data science, modelling, and advanced analytics. He focuses on financial and organisational insight, helping leaders understand performance, identify trends, and take decisive action.

How we work

Four commitments

These aren’t aspirational. They are the criteria we use when deciding which engagements to take and how to staff them.

01

Evidence over hype

We’d rather show you the working than promise you the answer. Every recommendation we make is reproducible.

02

Hand over what we build

We measure success partly by how little your team needs us in year two. The runbooks come with the code.

03

Quietly senior

Our delivery teams are small and senior. You won’t see a pyramid of juniors learning on your engagement.

04

Locally grounded

We’re based here. We understand the New Zealand policy environment, the data sovereignty conversations, and the realities of public-sector delivery.

Work with us

Let’s see if we’re a fit.

The best way to find out is a thirty-minute working session on a real problem you’re facing. No slides.
